"Issues of World War III" Survey

"Is yoga a good form of exercise?" Over half of responding readers considered yoga to be an unacceptable, evil practice, but a substantial minority — some 40 percent or so — opted for "other" opinions, all of which were critical of yoga to one extent or another. Not one reader expressed an opinion that yoga was entirely beneficial or harmless, at least as widely practiced today. Comments were more numerous and generally longer than usual. Here are excerpts of some:

Factual Background:
Billed mainly as an alternative approach to exercise and health, yoga has become a serious industry. In the United States alone, over 16 million people practice it, spending some $3 billion annually on classes and related items.

Yet yoga is hardly "exercise" in any standard sense. Unlike running or swimming, which involve hard work and exertion, yoga delivers some type of "relaxation" through posture and position control, breathing exercises, and, by frank admission of its teachers, meditation. If that doesn't sound much like physical exercise, you're headed in the right direction.

This popularized form of yoga is known as "Hatha yoga," one of half a dozen schools of yoga practice originating in India. The various forms of yoga date back anywhere from several centuries to thousands of years, all of them branches of Hindu religious philosophy which maintain a close relationship with Buddhist religious thought. All forms of yoga were designed to facilitate the worship of Hindu gods, emphasizing the attainment of trance-like states (akin to hypnosis) that render a person highly susceptible to outside influence.

In that light, the powerful brainwashing potential of yoga becomes obvious. And that's precisely the direction it has taken.

During the 1800s, the satanic, frankly anti-Semitic Theosophical movement began promoting Hindu paganism in the West. The Theosophists, led by activists of Manichean (evil-worshipping) or Satan-worshipping secret societies, were deeply involved in agitating and organizing the early Communist revolution in India; they also played a crucial role in creating the Fabian Socialist movement, including such groups as the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and the World Affairs Councils (WAC), which has infiltrated the highest levels of government and other establishment institutions. The clear imprint of Theosophy was visible in the National Socialist (Nazi) movement of Germany, which was rooted in pagan secret societies, absorbed large numbers of Communists into its ranks, and practiced numerous forms of Theosophical and Hindu paganism — including the swastika symbol, directly taken from Hindu tradition. And the Theosophists have built the now widespread "New Age" movement that encompasses the full range of pagan mysticism.

Hatha yoga, popularized since the late 1800s in Western nations by the Hindu Vedanta Society, is a central part of the "New Age" mix. Together with such practices as Transcendental Meditation (TM), biofeedback, acupuncture, and Zen Buddhist meditative techniques, yoga encourages an escapism and a weakness of mind consistent with idolatry and magic, the very opposite of the moral discipline and fear of G-d typical of monotheistic religion. Yoga and similar meditation inculcate a self-indulgent attitude, a selfish "spirituality," which is entirely incompatible with the sense of duty, obligation, and hard work required by subvservience to G-d's Will.

Of course, many yoga practitioners would be horrified by its pagan religious and radical underpinnings. So yoga has been repackaged in the West as an approach to "exercise" and "health." But its true meaning and impact remain essentially unchanged.

Unsurprisingly, then, people who practice yoga are not found at the forefront of the war against Communism. On the contrary, those influenced by "New Age" thinking tend heavily toward supporting or participating in some of the most radical Marxist causes, from nuclear disarmament to environmentalism to Public Health. And the "New Age" movement is backed by a variety of Fabian Socialist and Communist-front organizations.

Relevant Torah Principles:
1) Needless to say, Jewish and Noahide Law both prohibit all forms of idolatry. This includes not only forms of explicit worship of deities other than G-d, the infinite Creator of the universe, but also the mere belief in the existence of "other gods" (even if they are not worshipped). As an outright denial of G-d's absolute sovereignty over all creation, idolatry is considered by Torah to be the very worst sin a person could commit, and is therefore punished by death penalty.

2) Numerous practices associated with idolatry, apart from idolatrous worship itself, are likewise prohibited under both Jewish and Noahide Law. Jewish sage Maimonides rules (Mishneh Torah, Laws of Kings 9:2) that virtually all idolatry-related prohibitions of Jewish Law apply to gentiles as well; other sages, such as the Tosafos, favor a more lenient view that prohibits only the direct acts of idolatry themselves. Nevertheless, the Lubavitcher Rebbe has explained that, according to the principles of Hasidus (Jewish mystical philosophy), anything connected with idolatry is certainly improper for gentiles according to all rabbinical viewpoints (see, for example, Likkutei Sichos 25:186, 19 Kislev). This means that any practice traditionally connected with idolatrous religion, even if it no longer seems to have its original pagan meaning, remains improper for gentiles — and possibly forbidden altogether, as is the case for Jews.

3) Magic and sorcery, though not generally idolatry in themselves, are related to it. Differences of rabbinical opinion exist as to whether, and to what extent, each of the eight categories of magic and sorcery listed in the Torah are also forbidden to gentiles. But the prevailing view appears to be that sorcery and divination are all prohibited (though death penalty may only apply to sorcery as such).

4) Divination includes such practices as omen-reading, contact with the dead, astrology, etc. As described in Torah sources, divination often involves attaining a trance-like state — similar to the effect of yoga. This meditative, hypnotic state is one of the key indicators of a sorcery- or witchcraft-related practice, even if it is disguised as "exercise" or "health." The Torah prohibitions on divination are, to a large extent, prohibitions on entering a trance-like state of mind.

5) The Torah also warns that spiritual revelations are not toys for selfish indulgence; they are truths for cleaning up the world from evil and making the creation subservient to G-d. Midrashic sources tell us that Rabbi Akiva ascended to higher spiritual worlds and came back down in one piece, sound of body and mind, because he used those revelations of higher truth strictly to fulfill his duties under G-d's Law. Jewish sage Elisha ben Avuya, in contrast, returned from those higher worlds only to become an idolater, renaming himself "Acher" ("the other," a reference to a second god he thought he found up there), and abandoned his life of Torah scholarship to become a wicked rebel against G-d. Acher's insanity resulted from his desire for selfish "spirituality," turning him into little more than a "New Age"-style hippie.

Idolatry and sorcery, by their very nature, are self-indulgent and immoral; monotheism under G-d's Law, in contrast, is the very epitome of moral restraint and devotion to duty. Yoga is one of many weapons used by the Amaleki enemy to weaken society, through a spiritual attack on its most gullible individuals. It dulls moral sense and poisons the soul with idolatry.

So it's not just a matter of personal sin to practice yoga; it is an existential danger to society itself, an open door to Communist revolution. It is therefore incumbent on us not just to avoid yoga and similar practices personally, but to stamp it out with the full force of the law. Furthermore, putting out the fire is not enough when an arsonist is running around starting more. We must see to it that the hidden roots of Theosophy and secret societies are exposed, banned, and forever destroyed.

And now for this week's survey question:

Some Christian groups are encouraging investment in strife-torn Rwanda to help the country rebuild. Are they setting the right example?

(1) Yes, Rwanda needs business investment.
(2) The Rwandan people need help, but in a different way.
(3) No, nothing will help Rwanda anyway.
(4) Other

Subversion Alert

This week:
Interfaith Subversion Update, Part 6 — WCRP's Influence in Israel

The World Conference of Religions for Peace (WCRP), as we have already shown, is a far-reaching, international front for the Soviet Russian KGB, whose agents and front groups are deeply intertwined with the organization. Its agenda is the interfaith unification and destruction of all religions, including Judaism, into a single, Communist-controlled "New World Order" religion dedicated to a Marxist agenda. And with U.S. funding, the WCRP has extended its reach into Israeli society.

The WCRP was probably behind last month's meeting between PLO terror chief Mahmoud Abbas (successor to Yassir Arafat), Sheikh Abdallah Nimr Darwish of the Islamic Movement (a Hamas front) — and Israeli Rabbi Michael Melchior of the Labor Party. To make matters worse, it wasn't just a political meeting, but rather an interfaith one, with the PLO and Hamas representatives claiming to speak for Islam, and Melchior, whose Labor Party has always been aligned with international Communism, speaking on behalf of Judaism!

As one should expect, the participants not only worked to redefine and destroy all religions, they also managed to agree on supporting the surrender of Israel to the PLO.

But those "leaders" are all openly Marxist, with limited influence on the public at large. More dangerous is the WCRP penetration into orthodox Jewish circles.

Enter Yona Metzger, Israel's chief Ashkenazic rabbi. We've previously exposed his aggressive participation in interfaith meetings, including those hosted and run by Communist regimes (as well as working closely with rulers in the Communist Bloc). But we neglected to mention Metzger's ties to the WCRP.…

To be continued…

(Note: The underground Communist apparatus and its aboveground tentacles are actively engaged in subversion in all sectors and institutions of society today. Its agents would dearly love to know the full extent of our information, which would assist their disinformation efforts. Consequently, we do not divulge all our facts or sources. These profiles are intended only as a warning to the wise to monitor the individuals and groups exposed here, and to avoid their influence.)

Eye-Openers in the News

A closer look at news reports in recent weeks turns up some revealing gems:

We need more volunteers to approach nervous, spineless "refusenik" rabbis to ask them why they refused, and to lobby them to change their mind. With even just a little pressure, we can quickly turn many of them to endorse the PLO-defunding campaign. Let us know that you're ready to help by visiting our volunteer page at http://www.attacreport.com/plo/volunteer.php.

Terrorism Update:

Summary of PLO-related terror attacks these last two weeks, Wednesday (May 2) through Tuesday (May 15):

A little over two weeks ago, PLO/Fatah spokesman Abu Ahmed announced the PLO's celebration of a suicide bombing in Iraq in which nine American soldiers were killed. The PLO, said Abu Ahmed, was rejoicing "to hear nine American dogs were killed in Iraq," and then he emphatically added that the terrorists "are teaching the American dogs a huge lesson." He also referred to "the coming victory in Iraq" for the Baathist-Communist forces fighting America.

About a week later, the same PLO/Fatah group publicly declared it would launch terrorist strikes throughout the world, especially against the United States, unless the U.S. increases its aid to the PLO and Hamas.

What do you suppose was the response of President George Bush? Cutting off aid to the PLO? Launching air strikes against PLO targets in Gaza, Lebanon and elsewhere? Sending in the Marines to wipe out PLO forces?

If you're laughing, then you already understand well just how fanatically pro-Communist, and pro-PLO, Bush really is.

While the PLO's Palestinian Authority (PA) was recently announcing that it had consolidated most of its terror militias into a single, large army — with the help of $50 million in U.S. money recently provided for the purpose — the Bush Administration was brushing aside opposition to the PLO funding with empty promises that that money would stay in the hands of the PLO terrorists, but would never find its way to the Hamas terrorists who themselves receive PLO aid. But then it happened after all: Truckloads of American guns, sent courtesy of George Bush to the PLO, were diverted to Hamas on Tuesday. Naturally, Bush didn't even lift a finger to complain.

On the same day, the Bush Administration successfully pressured Israel to allow hundreds of heavily armed, elite PLO/Fatah terrorists from Communist Egypt into the Gaza Strip, where they are grouping to prepare for more attacks on Israel.

And just to make his point even more blunt, President Bush made sure the United States officially boycotted the Israeli 40th anniversary celebration of its victory in the 1967 war. Bush's move was a signal that he wants Jerusalem to come under PLO control, and therefore he objects to Israeli celebrations of Jerusalem having been reunited.

George Bush is the PLO's cash cow, and all of us must get involved in stopping his mad, pro-Communist agenda. Visit our PLO-defunding site, at www.attacreport.com/plo/volunteer.php, to volunteer your time in JAHG-USA's campaign.
