"Issues of World War III" Survey
"Should more opportunities be opened up for women to serve in the military, including in combat positions?" Oddly, not too many people seemed to have opinions on this issue. Those who did respond were unanimous in opposing women in the military in any way whatsoever. Only one comment stood out as worth quoting:
Decades ago, the relatively secular, Socialist Israeli government led the way in incorporating women into the military. Although the allegedly successful Israeli model was cited by feminists as justification for full involvement of women in the U.S. armed forces in all positions, they deliberately overlooked the fact that even the Israelis did not place women in combat positions, only in support roles.
Resistance to feminist demands remained high, and only in recent years have women finally been showing up in combat roles in the U.S. military. Presidents Clinton and George W. Bush quietly placed women in forward positions, so that during the Iraq war of 2003, Americans woke up to find that women had been captured by Saddam Hussein's Republican Guards and were being subjected to torture and violence by their captors.
Today, one need only visit the U.S. Defense Department's web site to see pictures of young girls in full uniform, barely 18 or 19 years old, manning high-caliber machine guns. Reports of U.S. casualties in Iraq now frequently include women, even mothers with small children back home. And news photos reveal women serving as officers of armored units in the Canadian army, leading tanks in the deserts of Afghanistan.
This is an experiment with essentially no real precedent in human history. Never before have national armies integrated women into their forces and especially not in combat and command positions. The countries that are now testing this policy have never yet faced a real, all-out war without superior technology to protect them, so we haven't yet seen the potential consequences. Yet the restructuring of our defenses as a "co-ed" military continues to be pushed hard, so we need to know what
Relevant Torah Principles:
1) As I heard explained a few years ago by a rabbi (though I don't know the source for this, so I'm relying for now on his discussion), the Torah does, in fact, prohibit women from serving in the military or police forces. But the reason is, at first glance, somewhat unexpected: It is based on the rules of modesty, specifically on rules of dress.
One of the 613 commandments binding on Jews is a prohibition against men wearing women's clothes; another forbids women from wearing men's garments. The uniforms and weapons of soldiers and police are considered strictly men's clothes, and thus women are forbidden to wear them. Consequently, a woman could not serve in any capacity where she must wear such uniforms or carry such weapons.
2) Though not specifically listed among the Seven Noahide Laws, both rules on cross-dressing must also apply to gentiles under the extended aspects of the Noahide Code, as implied by Jewish sage Maimonides and by the Lubavitcher Rebbe in more recent times. Thus gentile women, too, would be prohibited from serving in the military or the police.
3) But the larger question would be, why are uniforms and weapons not considered women's clothes as well? Clearly, the underlying rationale assumes that women aren't appropriate for the military in the first place, thus rendering the uniforms and weapons as uniquely men's garments. In other words, women shouldn't serve in the military because (a) it's bad for the military, and (b) it's bad for women. These realities, in turn, make military uniforms not suitable for women.
4) Torah has much to say about the inherent differences between men and women, but Hasidic mysticism explains it as differences in the soul. Men's souls are derived from the masculine spiritual traits such as chochmah ("wisdom," or the ability to see things in a visionary, large-perspective way), chesed ("kindness," related to the drive to reach outward to achieve), and netzach ("victory," the persistent drive to win). Women's souls, in contrast, derive from binah ("understanding," the ability to perceive details), gevurah ("strictness," related to turning inward to achieve), and hod (loosely translated as "humility," the ability to back down and cooperate rather than compete). The masculine, aggressive traits make for good potential as soldiers in war; the feminine traits simply do not.
Boiled down, this means that no matter how tough or determined a woman may be, her natural reactions and manner of thinking just don't perform well in tough combat. Being in such a situation puts her under unbearable pressure and strain, and threatens the breakdown of units in the heat of battle.
5) Thus the Noahide commandment of justice, which includes the obligation of maintaining effective defensive strength, requires that any gentile government specifically exclude women from all aspects of military service, not just combat or command positions.
From this perspective, one can see immediately that the integration of women into the military is part of the larger program of dismantling Western defenses in the face of Communist Bloc mobilization for war. Every advantage the Communists can get by sabotaging our military strength helps tip the scales of victory, and one of the most effective ways to throw a monkey wrench into our military machinery is by lacing the armed forces with women, who will necessarily and automatically break down under real combat. That, combined with the ongoing disarmament of our bases, our tanks, planes, helicopters, artillery, ships, and other advanced weapons, and our intelligence capabilities is weakening us and paving the way for a horrifying surprising on some battlefield in the near future.
Stopping feminist subversion will require not only changing national defense policy, but also educating women (and men) about the proper roles of each gender in society which would go a long way toward reparing marriage relationships. It will also require identifying and publicly exposing the Communist and Fabian Socialist agents who are coordinating the feminist offensive, to help people recognize another tentacle of the hidden enemy in our midst.
And now for this week's survey question:
|How can we prevent corporate scandals and ensure proper ethics are maintained by business leaders?
(1) Strictly enforce tougher rules with heavier penalties.

More on Yonah Metzger and Interfaith Religious Merger
The notorious Rabbi Yonah Metzger has been at it again.
Since our newsletter exposed the ecumenical efforts of Israel's chief Ashkenazic rabbi (a political position, not an authoritative one among rabbis) to promote interfaith dialogue with Buddhist, Christian, and Muslim leaders while meeting with and promoting some of the most brutal Communist thugs ruling as dictators Metzger hasn't slowed down a bit. In September, just weeks before the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah), Metzger traveled to London for an official interfaith meeting with the head of the Anglican Church.
As always, it didn't bother Metzger in the least that such meetings are strictly prohibited by Torah, to the extent that a rabbi who participates in them is subject to severe penalties, including excommunication. It also didn't bother him that the Anglican Church is now openly pro-PLO, to the extent of having promoted disinvestment from Israel just months earlier (a move endorsed by the Church's current head). Nor that the Anglican Church, and its Episcopal offshoot in America, are promoting a gamut of Leftist policies ranging from Socialism to feminism to environmentalism.
Indeed, Metzger was so enthusiastic about the meeting that he brought Israel's chief Sephardic rabbi, Shlomo Amar, with him (Amar, as noted in previous issues, is also rather active in the subversive interfaith game). Not only did the rabbis meet with the anti-Israel Archbishop of Canterbury in his official palace, but the three of them signed a joint declaration (even more seriously prohibited by Jewish Law) establishing a permanent interfaith dialogue between the religions.
It's entirely likely Metzger didn't meet the Archbishop in spite of his pro-PLO activism, but rather because of it. Two months earlier, during the middle of the Lebanon War in which thousands of Soviet Russian missiles were being fired into Israel by the PLO's Hezbollah front, Metzger publicly broke with numerous orthodox rabbis and refused to condemn the Israeli abandonment of the Gaza Strip last year. The other rabbis were pointing out that the ethnic cleansing of Jews from the Gaza had emboldened the terrorist enemy. But Metzger conspicuously refused to agree.
Metzger's efforts to destroy both Judaism and Israel are exactly parallel to those of Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz, the KGB-linked president of the bogus "Sanhedrin." Both Metzger and Steinsaltz attended the KGB-controlled interfaith meeting in Moscow last July; both Metzger and Steinsaltz have refused to condemn Israeli surrender to the KGB-supervised PLO; and both Metzger and Steinsaltz maintain friendly relations with Communist dictators. Whether or not Metzger is a member of the "Sanhedrin," he and Steinsaltz are working for the same enemy.
And they both need a serious excommunication from the Jewish people.
(Note: The underground Communist apparatus and its aboveground tentacles are actively engaged in subversion in all sectors and institutions of society today. Its agents would dearly love to know the full extent of our information, which would assist their disinformation efforts. Consequently, we do not divulge all our facts or sources. Summary of PLO-related terror attacks these last two weeks, Wednesday (November 15) through Tuesday (November 28): The PLO and its affiliated groups unleashed a torrent of dozens of Kassam missiles, gun battles, firebombings, and stone-throwing attacks that left a trail of dead and wounded victims all across Israel. An outraged Israeli public raised their voices to demand the re-liberation of the Gaza Strip from PLO occupation and the execution of the terrorists who brazenly escalated the war these last few weeks. The Olmert government could barely restrain the growing tide of anger, just managing to prevent the military from fighting seriously or winning in the Gaza; he then ordered the soldiers into full retreat while publicly offering to release thousands of terrorists from prison and even announced his support of allowing the PLO to bring in over 1,000 hardened, well-trained terrorists of its Badr Brigade into the Gaza to step up the mobilization of a full PLO army.
No one could possibly accuse "Israeli" Prime Minister Olmert of divided loyalties; he's the PLO's number one man in Israel today.
Without thousands of well-positioned traitors throughout the Israeli government secretly (or not so secretly these days) working toward a PLO victory, the PLO would never dare carry out the current wave of attacks. The backlash very nearly destroyed them this time, and would continue to be a danger to the terrorists if not for the Communist agents lacing all the highest positions of every single political party today, including not just the open Left (such as the Labor Party, Kadima, or Meretz) but also the "religious" parties and the Likud "conservative opposition." Those saboteurs constantly act as if they're about to do something to stop the terrorists, then promptly turn around and declare "cease-fires" (just in time to save the PLO), begin negotiations, arm the terrorists, and paralyze the Israeli response in every possible way.
And pro-Communist President George Bush is playing the same game, now trying to increase the psychological pressure on Israelis to surrender while openly legitimizing PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, a prominent member of the Fabian Socialist Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), is now arranging to meet with the PLO leadership to discuss further dismantling of Israel.
All this was taking place while the PLO itself, especially the main Fatah group under the personal command of Mahmoud Abbas, was openly and brazenly leading the way in the terror assaults. The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an armed unit of Fatah, ambushed Israeli soldiers with gun battles and launched Kassam missiles at residential areas. Fatah's Abu Rish Brigades, together with the Al-Aqsa Brigades, waited until Israel had entered its "cease-fire" and had withdrawn from the Gaza before promptly renouncing the "cease-fire" and punctuating their snickers with new waves of Kassam missiles. Olmert, of course, kept the Israeli soldiers quiet, and the missiles rained down on Israeli cities while no one did anything at all to stop the madness.
When the PLO wants to avoid too much liability, it launches its attacks under alternate names. Some of the missiles were fired by the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC), an umbrella name for coordinating terror attacks that is essentially dominated and controlled by the PLO, yet officially calls itself a separate group.
Many of the other attacks, including missiles, suicide bombings, and gun battles, were carried out in the name of either Hamas or the Islamic Jihad, neither of which is a formal member of the PLO but both of which are funded and coordinated by PLO commanders. So the "Hamas" or "Islamic Jihad" labels are nothing more than diversionary cover for PLO attacks.
Meanwhile, police and others are being injured in almost daily riots and stone-throwing attacks by PLO-organized mobs together with Israeli Communists (often under such group names as Peace Now, etc.) and with foreign Marxists from groups such as the International Solidarity Committee (ISC), a Communist-front group with chapters across the United States (but very few Arab members).
But no amount of treason and sabotage by Olmert and his Communist comrades will ever succeed once the PLO loses its badly-needed funding of some $1.5 billion annually from the U.S. taxpayer. Without that lifeline of support, the PLO would shrink to insignificant, and easily defeatable, proportions. Letters to the Editor
(Part 2 of a letter with several questions regarding Hasidic Gentile religious observance):
" May Noachides keep the family purity laws? Even to the point of going to the mikveh? " LW.
Our response: The "family purity laws" referred to here are the complex rules of Jewish Law that govern the time of a woman's monthly period and various other sources of ritual impurity, all of which restrict or prohibit marital relations during those times. The ritual purification involves immersion in a mikveh, a pool of water constructed according to numerous specifications and exact rules. For Jews, these are extremely serious laws with severe penalties for failing to heed them, and they form the foundation of Jewish marriage practices.
Do these rules also apply to gentiles? In short, the answer is "no."
Based on every Torah source I've read, the laws of ritual purity and impurity all of them, not just those related to monthly cycles, but also to dead bodies, impure vessels, etc. simply have no significance for gentiles. Unlike a Jew, a non-Jew is not able to become ritually impure while he is alive (any person's dead body has a powerful ritual impurity, but even if the body is that of a gentile, its impurity only affects Jews), so there's no meaning to a non-Jew immersing in a mikveh or doing any other ceremony to become pure. (The rabbis did decree a certain ritual impurity on gentiles in order to discourage intermarriage with Jews, but that can't be removed by any process whatsoever.)
On the other hand, common sense seems to make relations during a woman's monthly period objectionable. And since Torah Law does allow gentiles to perform additional Jewish commandments, in an optional manner, for the sake of extra reward, it may well be that gentiles could make a point of avoiding marital relations during that monthly period. Certainly, there's nothing wrong with following such a rule, even if it may not be required for gentiles.
But immersion in a mikveh has no application to gentiles, not even in an optional manner. Nor do any of the rules regarding ritual purity or impurity, from whatever source. It's not that a gentile is forbidden to practice them; it's just that they don't mean anything, and the attempt to practice them would be irrelevant and absurd. Anything that doesn't apply at all to gentiles definitely should not be observed by them; to do otherwise would be to create a new religion, which is strictly forbidden to everyone.
